The Kiwanis Club of Windsor goes back many years. From luncheon meetings downtown at the Prince Edward Hotel (long gone) to the Top Hat Supper Club for years. Then we sort of rambled around the city trying to find the right fit. The Royal Marquis was feeling about right until it was announced that it was being turned into a retirement facility. Windsor Inn Bed & Breakfast proved to small, Back Road Cafe was our next stop, it was fine until we out grew the only available room. We are now at The Roseland Golf & Curling Club and this is working well. We meet on Tuesday evenings and word is that the Roseland Golden-K Kiwanis Club will be moving back to this facility for their luncheon meets on Wed.
Our meetings usually include dinner first at a nominal $15 per person, however this is entirely optional. You may choose to have dinner at home and then come out.
Jeff Wyatt (front right) usually has a terrific guest speaker lined up to entertain, inform and educate us on a wide variety of topics.

Inter-Clubs are a Kiwanis tradition which involves visits between clubs both near and far. We have a bus load of Ohio Kiwanis Clubs take the drive to Detroit/Windsor each spring. We like to call it their annual migration north.
Detroit #1 Club was the original Kiwanis Club...the first in the world. They meet at the posh Detroit Athletic Club pictured below.

The Windsor Kiwanis visits this grand venue a couple of times a year for inter-clubs and as guests at their special functions. We were invited when Mayor Eddie Fransis of Windsor was the guest speaker at a meeting. Our own Bill Willson was asked to introduce the Mayor.

William (Bill) Willson has honoured Kiwanis with
his membership for 60 years.
